A friend is considering the purchase of a '49 convertible for restoration, the only real problem with the car is that it is missing the folding top mechanism.  Does anyone have a complete mechanism in decent, restorable condition that might be available?  Thanks.

1948/49 Olds 98 convertible and 1949 Buick Super/Roadmaster convertible assemblies would also work.

If this is the convert in FL for $8,900, I see in his pile of chrome what looks like parts of the side irons ?

He told me he sold the car to a friend who gave a resto shop $40k and the shop closed up losing the engine-tranny-bumpers-seats and top bows and his $40k.

I've called him 4 times for better pics of the chrome and to add them to his craigs ad to which he said, I'll post them soon so I finally gave up after a week of pestering him. He's suppose to have a recast steering wheel and 3 bumper quards ?

Good luck
