Stats are from WARD'S Automotive Yearbook.

Only 1.9% of 1970 Eldorados were made with bucket seats.    (About 453 cars if I did my math right.)

The book lists Stats for all makes so not all options are listed.

Thank you for that info.

The car is still in the original owners garage. I'm hoping to pick the car up in about a week.
Need to clear a space in my garage.

Nice ride! I love cruising in the 70 Eldo...mine is a driver. So I bomb around town all the time in it.

It is actually a fun car to drive.

Good luck, enjoy driving it.

Don't let the low miles inhibit your fun.

Matt,

I haven't driven it home from the original owners garage yet.
But I hope to do so his week.
I bet the secondaries have never been opened up.
I'll report back on how it runs as soon as I get to drive it more than around the block in a gated community at 15 mph.

Very, very nice Brian.

Now, You should consider at least jumbling up your email address in your sig, unless you want a lot of spambots bombarding your email.

Dave Smith, where did you get the Wards book? There's a lot of potentially great info there. I do think that bucket seats were at least available in Coupe deVilles and DeVille Convertibles, but it has N/A .

Mike,
In 1970 bucket seats were only available on the Eldorado. Here's a quote from the 1970 Data Book:

"BUCKET  SEATS"
"Strato type Bucket Seats in Black leather are offered for the Eldorado only."
"Bucket Seats are not available on any other body style, even on special order."
"A  center  console,  to match  the trim, is placed between the two front seats."

The WARDs books come up on Ebay from time to time.   They can be pricey though.

Buckets were available in deVilles up thru 1968.   But don't forget the interiors were totally redesigned in 69 in the deVilles including seats so I guess they didn't see the need to rework the bucket seat design for such a low demand option.  Plus the all new "Dual Comfort" split seats were now offered instead.

The 69 & 70 Eldorados were the last to offer buckets.  But even in those the number of people ordering them was shrinking.

Picked up the car today!!
It's about 25 miles from the former owner's house to my house and I made it home fine but the driver's seat was adjusted all the way up and it's not currently working so it was not a very comfortable ride but the car runs and drives very well.

It was sputtering a bit when I leaned into the throttle on one stretch of road but I think it needs some carb cleaner at a minimum and something like the old GM Top Engine Cleaner treatment which you cannot get anymore.

I am certain that the car has never been tuned up.  It would not surprise me if the points and plugs are original.  The wires are date coded for late 69 so they are original as the car was a December 69 build.

As if it couldn't get any better, I was greeted with an envelope full of documents when I went to get the car with my wife.
The envelope held the original bill of sale, the actual GM invoice, the owner's manual, original temp tags and registration, AND a Protect O Plate.  I have never seen a Cadillac Protect O Plate before.

It was a cloudy Fall day but no threat of rain so now the car resides in my garage and I can't stop looking at it!

Congratulations on getting it home!

What options does it have?

Does everything work (including the ALC)?

So with the car being original and in need of a tune up, do you test each plug wire or buy a date coded (if available) set and replace all?

How is the drivers seat foam?  Has it deteriorated?

You can get repro date coded spark plug wires here: https://www.lectriclimited.com/spark-plug-wire-sets
They have them for your car and even dated coded Dated 3-Q-69 available.

The car looks great Brian and you look like a kid on Christmas morning.  The grin tells it all.

Seat foam is still like new.
The ALC does not appear to be working. The car is sitting low in the back.
AC needs a shot of freon. Probably has a slight leak. I put a little freon in the system on this car about 2 years ago and it lasted the most of the summer.

Radio plays AM but not FM. Plays from back speaker only.

There will be a few little jobs to do on this car but on the whole it's really great.
