Question--A cadillac 500 cid V-8 is listed for sale and I would like to know if anyone can advise me what year it came out of.  The engine has the 5200 series block with the number 4495200 with the improved oil galleys the small 76cc chamber heads (1197902) for high compression.  The stroke was measured at 4 5/16 inches.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sir,

see the recent message string which began at 12-21-04 under the title: "1975 Eldorado engine"
in which clc member Jan CLC#17589 posted a very informative link:

"David, and others,

Heres a link to a site with information how to determine the differences between a 472 and a 500(and the 425).
Hope this info is to any help"
