Has anyone put whitewalls on their new DTS?     I'm looking to buy a 2006-2007 DTS and wonder how whitewalls would look on one of them?

Sadly, the days of whitewall tires are gone.  The last body style IMO that looked good with the extra narrow 1/2 whitewall strip was the 00-05ish deville.  I would not put a whitewall on any 06+ cadillac, as they are designed for a blackwall tire look.  Just my opinion...

Ive seen DTSs around here with white walls. They look good in my opinion. The most common ones I've seen are the Vogue tires with a thin gold stripe and a 1" or so white stripe.

Others I've seen have 1" or so single white stripe. They also look good.

David,

From time to time , I see current DTS models with whitewalls.  More often than not though, they have blackwall tires.  We've gotten so used to seeing blackwalls, to some, the whitewalls look a bit out of place on modern cars.  I say it is your choice.  It's going to be your car-do what makes you happy when you look at it!  Maybe someone on this forum could Photoshop the whitewall look for you and you could get an idea if that is what you'd want on your car!

Best regards,

I've seen pics of the vogue type tires on the DTSs on the E&G website.    I was hoping more for a reguler or thin line white stripe.

Hi David,

I think that I may actually have a picture of one with whitewalls in my office.  I will check tomorrow and if I do, I will scan it and post it for you.

Apparently, SOME Cadillac dealers, but not all, have a new steel-belted radial with a regular whitewall, and a thin gold ring on it.  They are expensive, but my guys at Ocean Air Auto Repair in Va Beach http://www.oceanairauto.com/index.htm has a set of them that he showed me last week.  I was lamenting the "police car" wheels and truck wheels on cars today.  There is also a South Korean tire company (Kumho) makes a steel-belted radial that matched the Firestone tires I have on my 90 Mercury with whitewalls.

Personally, I have always liked whitewalls on all my cars except my muscle cars, which look great with white letter tiires. I have a 2006 DTS and can't wait for my tires to need replacing so I can go to whitewalls. I think there is nothing like my chrome wheels fitted with whitewalls. Just my opinion.

Well I did it.  I bought a 2007 DTS.  Black with grey interior.    Other than the Vogue tires, I can't find a thin stripe whitewall in a 17 inch size.    I guess I'll just have to live with the blackwalls for now.

Congratulations and good luck with your new car! Your car sounds like an elegant color combination. The only 17" tire I can find online with a white sidewall is at this link (scroll down to last item):

Coker sells a tire called the American Classic Radial.

It comes in 205/50R17 and has a 7/8" white wall.

That would probably look pretty good.

Looks like the same tire Rich posted.

Thanks Guys!       That might be a bit too wide though.   Remember the thin line ones?  Michelin made them for the lincolns and Goodyear had them on the Assurance Comfortreds.

Jessie,   Goodyear sells a narrow stripe on their P225-60R16  Assurance ComforTred

But alas, they don't offer the narrow stripe on a 17" tire.

Thanks Dennis.    They show a 2 inch whitewall in the DTS 17 inch size.

I'm still looking for a narrow stripe WW for the DTS.

Apparently they are made for the funeral and limousine industry.   I just can't find any retail ones.

The 1 1/4" ones probably wouldn't look too bad.

OK,   one of the great guys over at the Procar forum had the 411 on a narrow stripe whitewall in 17 inches for us DTS owners.
