My '38 has a Fram F-1 filter system installed on it using a Fram C-1 filter element.
I just used my last replacement filter, an Atlas N-21.
Looking for any leads for some C-1, N-1, or other interchangeable elements.
Thanks,

That oil filter is by no means, the type used on the pre-1941 cars. It appears to have been designed for some pother application.

The filter was a conventional filter tat was bracketed to the intake-exjhaust  hold down studs. The engine compartment was not wide enough to mount the filter anywhere else. It was mounted slightly forward of the carburetor location, and above the LH exhaust manifold.

I was thinking the same thing.. it is an interesting looking contraption though, all those bolts.. makes me think it was meant for much higher pressures or is a much earlier design when they were lest cost conscious.

Think ill look for a different design, and replace this one sometime down the line.
The seller is not able to remember where it came from , or when.
Ill look at later Caddy years designs and see if one will fit.
