HI! I am looking for a generator in good working condition (original or rebuilt, it doesn't matter, as long as it works o.k.) for my 56 Cadillac WITH A/C (double pulley). The original part no is Delco Remy 1102011. Anything out there? Any alternative parts? I want to keep the car as original as possible, so I appreciate any help. THANKS! Interesting,

Why can't you get yours rebuilt? The only difference in the generator (for lots of years) is the pulley..

Problem with mine is a busted armature, I checked with several shops, it can't be rebuilt. I know there are lots of companies out there offering rebuilt generators .... most of them charging an arm and a leg... that's why I tried our CLC forum. I am just looking for a part!

The armature is Part # 192 3535 and fits 1953 thru 1956, except for a 1953 Air Conditioned car (is somehow different)...

These armatures pop up on e-bay often, but you need to make sure it is the correct number.

Good Luck, if I seen anything will let you know.

THANKS! This really helps. I'll start looking for the armature and  - just in case - will continue my search for a generator (can't have enough spare parts these days ;)
Thanks again.

O.k. I found an original armature 1923535; unfortunately it's the wrong part... :'(. the armature in the generator of my 1956 Cadillac Sedan de Ville with AC is actually a 1925210. Does anybody out there have an idea what other cars the 1925210 armature was used in?...still looking for that generator and now an armature part # 1925210. THANKS!

John Washburn CLC 1067 Sadly deceased.

The reason the standart cadillac armarature does not fit is:

1925210 is for a 1953 thru 1955 Buick with Air Conditioning.

What happens is the rebuilders use the generator that will interchange, not always the correct one. So now we know.

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

Thanks John! I'll just keep looking, and maybe I'll be able to find an original 1102011 generator.  :o Now that I know the truth about my generator I could also try to find an armature for the Buick part, but then again I am not thrilled about the idea of having a Buick part in my Cadillac >:(. Apparently one of the previous owners had the generator "rebuilt".. :(..  now I'll try to reverse the mix-up....wish me luck! THANKS AGAIN! I'll keep you posted.
