I will change the points out and see if that makes a difference and let you know what happens. I hope this motor does not turn out to be a dud.

Today I spent the hour of free time I had on the caddy. I finished cleaning the leather top dash pad. It was Very dry, and took alot of leather conditioner to get it back to decent looking. Im sure I will have to work on it a little more, but hopefully I can get it to a point where it will look good for a "driver" Caddy as mine will be.

I also pulled out all the fron carpet, and honestly the front floors are worse than I thought they were going to be... BUT all is not lost, the rear floors look like they have no holes and will need no patching!! You win some you lose some, in this case I guess it is a draw. Two big holes in the front is the same in my book as four small holes in all the floors. More videos to come I promise!

As long as it didn't start with "A" and end with "L", you should be okay.

CONGRATULATIONS.

But, next time, put petrol down the carbies, NOT Aerostart.

Next time we run the engine, it will be through the carbs with gasoline for sure. We just wanted to see if the engine would fire. One step at a time!

Does anyone have a good used gas tank that I can buy from them? the one in this car is totally trashed!!!

Got the Radiator in, and now I am working on rebuilding the dual carters I have on top of the motor. I got one all disassembled today, and I am thinking they will clean up real nice! The inside was actually much cleaner than I thought it would be. I had to loosen up a few small parts but they should be 100% when done. Stay tuned!

Also the leather cleaner and additive I used is called Lexol. It is sold in two bottles, the cleaner and also the conditioner. It is expensive but it seems to work!

I noticed in one of you videos you were polishing the bumpers with some product , just wondering what it was ??

I wouldn't worry too much about the smoke, she's been sitting along time, I would drive her and get her up to speed and get the gum and carbon blown out of there.

I agree.  I'd get it road ready before worrying about the smoking.
