Steering column horn wire.

1937 LaSalle coupe

Hello everyone. Just got back my steering column back from the rebuilder. Wondering what gage wire to use ? And do you solder the brass button close to the end of steering shaft ?... This will be for my '37 LaSalle... Thanks for any replies... John C. Lehman... CLC# 26365...

Its about number 12 wire and yes, if you don't solder it close you will find you can't feed the excess down the tube.
