I have been assembling a 1940 Cadillac series 62 from a combination of it's original parts and an engine from a 1939 Lasalle parts car.   There were two different air cleaner assemblies in the collection of parts.  I chose the one which resembled units I have seen on later model flat head Cadillacs.  The other looks different ( tube with canister at one end) I assume is the earlier Lasalle unit.   The trouble is the bracket that attaches to the front of the generator only fits one way, this places the attachment point for the bottom of the air cleaner about 2 inches too far forward.  Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff Hager
