Hi everyone, selling a Barn Fine, 1939 LaSalle, came across it yesterday, I was told that the double fender spares are desirable.

I have it on Craig's List.

Yes, that's it. It shows the car left the factory with out the side mounts. It doesn't have 6W on the plate. However, it's a stunning car & if I was a buyer, it wouldn't bother me. If you want the original colors, maybe someone on the board can help.

Interest in prewar cars??? What a difference 10 years makes!!! Here's a sporty 39 LaSalle versus a stogy 29 Cadillac  4 door in another ad. The LaSalle is drivable in traffic & can be enjoyed , the Cadillac ... well... what do you think?

Personally I couldn't live with those side mounts. I thought the ones on my 1940 Cadillac coupe were way too high but these LaSalle ones are worse, higher than the hood line in fact. On my 1940 they actually created two terrible blind spots.  I don't think the bodies after 38 were ever designed to accommodate them but obviously some buyers still wanted them. Don't get me wrong, I'm a side-mount man, but don't like those. Just me.

Looks like a number 57 on the paint code which is Franconia Beige. looks like it's still in it's original colour.

I think it's been reduced and if you like this model I agree it's a good price.
