Does anyone have a Republic part number book?  I have a NOS timing chain and crank gear thought to have been for the flathead V8 but is actually slightly smaller.  It's the early wide type so pre-war. Too short for the overhead valve engines and I was wondering about the later side valve V16?

It's a  Republic 333289

The late V-16 chain is the same width and pitch as the V-8.  The crankshaft gear is the same.  By the price in the parts book it must be slightly shorter than the V-8.  Off the top of my head I thought it was the same but the part number is different.

I thought the later V16 was a good candidate Brad and yes, it fits the gears of the V8 perfectly in pitch and width but just that little bit short so that might account for it being slightly cheaper.  The gear has a slight offset different than the V8 though which muddies the waters a little. :D

No one out there with a later V16 chain in their stock to measure it?
