Searching for the dreaded '54/'55 rear bumper ends, all that's needed to complete my restoration project. There is a fellow  (Alex ) in Dallas Georgia that is selling reproductions, finished to show quality for $1400 a pair, anyone have any experience with this product? The car is a class 1 show car so they need to be quality. E-bay address is sellingcrazed81 for the items.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I haven't seen the repros from the guy in Dallas, GA (and I live pretty close by in Marietta, GA). Maybe he could meet me halfway and I could look at them for you and give you my recommendation.  As you may know, I have had many 54 and 55 models (and am in the process of buying what I hope will be my last one, a 55 FW).

Good luck. I am looking for a set too but that is down the road. I am up for a set of used ends but I guess they don't exist. They appear to be either junk or perfect.

I bought a set from Alex a couple of months ago, I haven't put them on yet, as I am doing a motor overhaul, they look good to me for the money, but as far as fit and how long they look as they do now,  I can't help there.

Many years ago, somebody reproduced those bumper ends with aluminum. I remember I bought a pair for a '55 owner, but I lost the name from the supplier. Are the new ones still made with aluminum or with steel?
From time to time I am getting an inquiry for those bumper ends; it's better to have a positive answer than "I don't know"!

Roger the ones I have are from steel and appear to be close to the same thickness, as the originals.
