Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well!

I am in need of a lock rod, GM Part Number #3072968, which is illustrated in the attached.  I purchased this beautiful car during the winter and am going through it now, ensuring all is 100%.  We are working to make sure the outside passenger door lock is able to be locked with a key as intended, and disassembled the panel to find the lock rod, #3072968 was missing.  I am not sure why.

Of course, the item is long discontinued.  Should any of you have one, by slim chance, and/or have a donor car that might have it which you use for parts, I would be pleased to purchase the item from you. Alternatively, if you have a source for these type of items that are difficult to find except for pulling one off of a donor car, then please let me know.  I appreciate the help.

Hi, This type of small part you may fall into from this ad, but if you are wanting it quickly, I would contact one of the vendors of that year(s) on eBay. You might pay a little more, but they can go directly to a car, remove it, and get it in the mail. In any case, best of luck. BW

Or, if the worst comes to the worst, you could always bend up your own from a piece of strong wire.

Dear Barry,

Dear Bruce,

Thanks for the suggestions.  Yes, pulling a good part from a "donor car" is the best at this point.

Appreciate the support.

Regards,

Travis

Travis, just a note to bug my good friend Bruce...

He is only 10K (yes, that's ten thousand miles) away, so that is why he suggested a "make do" solution. He is from the island of Tasmania which is on the far south side of Australia. He also takes the time to be head Administrator of this Forum for which we should thank him daily. Again, best of luck. Barry.

Boy, many times I wish I could just go out and "rob" parts off a Donor Car to satisfy my needs, but alas, no such thing down here.
