Hi,

Recently acquired a '76 Fleetwood with Theft Deterrent System that isn't working. After reading the service manual, it is unclear to me where the two inline fuses are located. Should I be able to see them without removing any dash components?

This is a 28K car. Generally in very nice overall condition. Well optioned including EFI and ACRS.

Equipped with Illuminated Entry and Fuel Economy Monitor, both also not working. AC working; however, climate controls not working. Nothing happens when changing temperature and air only blows to the floor.

Thanks.

Huh.  Seems odd for there to be more than one fuse out on such a low mileage car. Especially the inline one(s)    Could there be a bad ground?    Check the book to see where the major underdash grounding points are.  With so many things inop I'll bet you that there is a ground not secure.    Those upper panel dash warning lights (fuel monitor and alarm warning lamp included) have power to them and work when grounded.

Also,   We must see some photos of that car!   ACRS!  oh my!

Thanks. I was wondering about ground or a common fuse. Being very cautious about doing anything in the dash as the last thing I want is a 41-year-old airbag going off in my face. I need to find the service manual supplement for ACRS. I have the standard set of manuals for '76.

Hi,
You have to remove the lower dash section to see the inline fuses to the Security System.

Thanks. What do I need to look out for with the ACRS system? Is removing that fuse enough?
