Source for Exhaust Tips on 1952-53 Cadillac?

Can anyone recommend a source for the dual exhaust tips (through the bumper) on 1952-53 Cadillac?  I've seen stainless steel ones for $700 but would like to find something more affordable. I suppose one solution is to reroute the exhaust below the bumper, but of course that sacrifices authenticity.

John,

I don't have a suggestion.  I believe that back in the day these were made by some aftermarket company (I briefly owned a 52 and it had some of the aftermarket ones as spare parts).  So keep an eye out for them on ebay and maybe you will get lucky.

This highlights a problem with sedans (and I love Cadillac sedans).  Parts like this cost as much for a sedan as for a convertible.  Restoration costs on a sedan are very high also.  But the value of a sedan is typically much lower, making it hard for us to rationalize doing a perfect job restoring sedans.

I feel your pain...

I've seen other reproductions pop up on ebay from time to time for about half the price of the ones you're looking at.  I believe I know which seller you're referring to with the $700 set.  All of that sellers prices are inflated.

Same person had a 53 front bumper on eBay for a loooooooong time for $800 and it was a poor core.  I've got two of them in the same condition.  If I could get that kind of money for parts, every car, including the 70 would be a parts car and I'd retire next month!

Any other suggestions?  I've been looking without success. Nothing listed on eBay.  Thanks!
