Very nice. Original '59 Biarritz in this state is almost unheard of.

Thanks for the pics.  Feel free to post some more if you have them.

Front and rear views. The car has spent its entire life in Wyoming, therefore no rust issues. It has every option except A/C; the original owner thought A/C was unnecessary in a convertible in Wyoming.

Here are the part numbers for fuel pumps in these years.  The car part number came from a 1960 master parts list book.

12.3955   5593963   Pump, Fuel  (A/C type 4362)      57
12.3955   5621645   Pump, Fuel  (A/C type 4491)  there is a note "when exhausted use 5521703.      58
12.3955   5621681   Pump, Fuel (A/C type 4622)  there is a note "when exhausted use 5521703      59/60
12.3955   5621703   Pump, Fuel  (A/C type 713)      58/60

Oh my God.
Black Eldo with red and white buckets? Original car?
You really have a magnificent car there.

Bill Refakis, do you know this car?

Thanks David (kz78hy). I am presuming that "when exhausted" refers to the cars that have a return fuel line back to the tank, i.e., "exhausted"?

Michael,

Nope, when the parts are gone, use the next number is what that means.

There is one serious issue with this car - that is not in my garage!  :o

Roger & Eric are correct - IMHO.
One pump AC Type 713.
But 2 non-corrugated paper filters - for Non-AC and the other for AC cars.
Fuel filters: AC Type GF 124 for single 4 barrel carburetor - no A/C - AC Type GF 149 for tri-power with A/C - see pics.
The fuel bowl assemblies are different too - AC bowl assembly has the additional fuel vapor return line to the fuel tank.
Have fun,

That is one fine car!  Base Eldorado though, no extra options.  No A/C, Cruise Control, Auto Dimming, or tinted glass.  I wonder if the air suspension is still there.  That would way cool if it is.

I'm confused - as usual.
It is a base model as Dave says (yet SO upholstering but no standard features of an Eldo - that is a special order), or fully loaded except for A/C as OP - Mike - owner says.

Have fun, and help the old guy out here.
Steve B.

Mike,
Please post a picture of the DATA PLATE (blur out the body number if you want) - dog tag - and put me out of my confusion.

David listed the 4 extra cost, upgrade options above. Ez Eye glass, cruise, a/c and autronic eye. On the "Biarritz only" was the no cost option of six way bench or 2 way buckets. (Nb only the driver's seat was powered. Also note the bucket seat cars have the courtesy light positioned in the rear bow.)
The two Tone interior on this car must be special order because the Biarritz was standard with full, one colour interiors, black, blue, red, white, silver, plum, green. Steering wheels were single colour. Red rim and white handgrips on steering wheel is the giveaway that it was special ordered that way..

Q is correct about standard '59 EBZ interiors being monochrome except white leather which would come standard with gray carpet and dash pad.

'1959 Eldorado Seville Code 59 interior is just like this except for the bucket seats.

Forgive me for any inaccuracies with respect to the 'options' as I am learning about this car from you guys! To clarify, I am not the owner (regrettably), but rather a friend and business associate of his for over 40 years. His brother ordered the car, flew to Detroit and drove it back to WY. My friend inherited the car.

I am attempting to bring the car back to mechanical operation and to perform a thorough exterior and interior detail. I have some experience in this field but this is my first Cadillac, thus the value of this forum. The car does have its original air ride suspension, although there is a leak which deflates the bags after a day or so.

Steve, I have attached a pic of the 'dog tag' from the front cowl; hopefully, that is what you had requested.

The Option Code "P" is "Optional Gear Ratio".  It is not supposed to be available on cars with "Q" Engine (3 2 bbl carb, standard on Eldorado) or cars with Air Conditioning.

Only way I can see this would be possible is if the Q engine was deleted by special request and the car received the regular 4 bbl carburetor.  Which carb setup does the car have?

*Accidentally deleted a PM. To whoever sent it, please resend again. My apologies. *
