Hello,
Before I put my car up on jackstands to replace the negative battery cable (from battery to starter) can anyone tell me how and where this cable is routed under the car?  Are there brackets holding the cable along the way?  If not, should there be brackets?

Or, can I just use the old cable as a fish tape and pull the new cable through?  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Replace cables on my 40 Lasalle and did not need to fish them. There were heavy wires that are looped on the ends connected to motor that wires go through.
When you get it up where you can see it t

I would suggest that you install a battery disconnect while you are doing it. I put a rotary one in the kick panel on the drivers side. It is behind the enrage handle and hidden very well.

Originally there is one clip to the frame about midway.  If it has the original cable in it you should see it.

Thanks Guys.
I think I've decided to put the old girl up on jack stands and do it right instead of fast.

Tom, thanks for the suggestion but someone put a master disconnect switch on the right front body mount down low at some point in the past.   I'm going to bypass it for now to see if that reduces the voltage drop I see in that circuit.
And, I'm not sure but I don't think my car has the enrage handle option.  At least I haven't found it yet.  My wife tells me I don't need one as I'm already on max enrage most of the time.
