I noticed a fairly complete 1941 Cadillac 4 door barn find in Seattle Craigslist for $9500 but car is in Maryland.  Just passing the info on for anybody that may be interested.  I could probably not go and check it out and get more pictures and information if any club member were seriously interested.  Listing claims it was in the barn since 1979, and that it is 99% complete in FAIR condition and has title.  Current color is grey and it looks solid in the photos.

Here is a link to the ad:  https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/1941-cadillac-4-dr/6329652604.html
The ad states the car is in Maryland. It has been all over the place.     Harry

Here is a car that I would not consider buying unless I was there with cash and a trailer if it has shady history? Good observation Harry.  Strange to post in Seattle and car is in Maryland!! We have a town in Washington named Marysville and I first though it was just misspelled.

I notice that it has the rare option of a RH fog lamp and LH fog lamp cover. (Even rarer is the one with LH fog lamp and RH cover...)

One has to decide. Would it be more fun to try to restore the car or simply stand in front of your toilet and chuck twenty dollar bills in.

Come on guys! You're being a bit hard on it. It's only $9500! Still a high-end car when finished.  I wish my first 41 convertible restoration had been 10% as good as that to start with and mine cost me that much to get back here over 20 years ago.

I agree with Barry about pouring money into it and with Bobby about making it $100s instead of $20s. I am upside down in most of my cars and trucks but that is my heirs problem.  I am not wealthy but can finance my "car addiction" (my daughter nomenclature) without missing any meals.  When I am unable to enjoy them I estimate in today's dollars 80% (my estimate) recovery of the money I have spent would mean I had a great time for a nominal price.  I can live with that.  My last ride will be in my 1979 Dodge Lil Red express if it is not raining (No reason to damae the wooden trim is there).

Is it just my imagination, or have these pre-war 4 door convertibles been coming out the woodwork lately??  It seems to me that I have seen more of these cars for sale in the past 18 months than I have seen in all of my life.  I do not think that it is just because I have started appreciating them since I have always thought they were some of the most majestic looking Cadillacs out there, and I have always wanted one, but they have been just out of my reach - now they are all over the place - from parts cars, lousy projects, good projects, nice older restorations.  I guess a lot of folks are taking their losses on the pre-war cars and moving on, but - wow - there have been some deals on these cars.

I've known of only one in a parts yard. Years ago, (probably) Doug Houston told me of one in a junk yard just over the MI line from IN. It was too far for me to go alone, but I told a couple of friends and we decided to drive up one Sunday morning after getting in touch with the owner (Steve's Auto Parts) to let us in on a Sunday. We took what seemed to be the most direct route but it was two lane and we got behind some Amish folk in buggies (Well, it WAS a Sunday) and it took forever. The car was there and Doug had forgotten to tell me he'd taken the doors. Several years later, Jack Miller, a CLC member from Terre Haute hauled it home and it now resides in the collection of Phil Maloof in Vegas. At one time Jack owned three including another junker from OH that the most valuable thing on it was the lenses on the front seat back. Also at that time he had a Verde Green 1941 Roadmaster convt sedan.

There were four at the 1990 Carson City meet, three on the field and a black one parked wayyyyy off govt. property. It had Bedford Cord upholstery. One of the ones on the field was bright green and had been altered to take 1946-47 fenders and grill. They were beautiful cars and simply too pretty to throw away. (Pardon for the re-telling of the car in MI. When you get old you can get away with that...)

No, the one I saw in NV was all done and well maintained. The first NOCAL GN meet (too lazy to pull out the Directory to check the "name.") had a cream colored '41 convertible coupe show up late on Saturday afternoon with a 1947 grill. Strange things happen in California.

Speaking of gray 1941 Cadillac 4-door convertibles, there was a fine example in Washington state for many years, owned by the late Dewey Griffin, long-time owner of the Oldsmobile - Cadillac dealership in Bellingham.  Is anyone familiar with the car or know what happened to it?  I often enjoyed seeing this beautiful car.

I was in a 4-door convertible frame-of-mind just this morning, and couldn't help but notice this fine '41 Roadmaster 4-door convertible for sale in California and currently offered on Ebay.  No, not a Cadillac, but still has that beautiful '41 General Motors style:
