1937 Cadillac LaSalle, I need to purchase what I would call the center hood hinge for the two piece front hood, that slides over the right and left hoods this would be under the stainless steel trim down the center of the hood.

Hello Stephen, that piece usually just rusts away. Extremely difficult to reproduce because of the full length curves. About the only way to get one is to take it from a donor car. I have three sets of the top hood sections but I only have one of these parts to sell for $100.

Hello Stephen,
Thank you, your hood mounting bar should arrive Monday.
Instructions:
To repair the hood joining/mounting bar.
Cut off both ends to make clean cuts.
Cut the remaining bar in half.
Join the two pieces together by welding a short piece of metal bar underneath long enough to create the exact overall length needed to insert onto the following:
One end must insert onto the foot piece of the hood ornament mount.
One end must fully insert onto the small end piece mounted at the cowling.
Then remove the repaired piece, insert it into the two hood halves, press on the stainless trim piece, and you are ready to mount the hood, (first, remove the hood ornament from its mount so that it will not be damaged).
Enjoy your creation!

Hello Stephen, thank you for your call. I have not received you check either - the delays are due to the three-foot snow here. I know your hinge reached Baltimore on the 21st but was/is delayed due to the mess in Baltimore. Your tracking number is USPS 9505 5108 4498 6021 2933 82 hope you receive it soon as it was to be only a 3-day trip.
I also sent your person instructions how to prepare the hinge as new. Good luck with your restoration.
