Advertising on this forum?

I’m getting ads on this web site now.  Is this something new on the site?  Do I have a virus?  Has it always been there and I never saw it? 

Anybody else see it?   Classic Exhaust Inc. top and bottom of every page.

Two questions here:

1.  Advertising. 
I added the ad per instructions from Melissa Adams, Advertising Manager, The Self-Starter.

2. PORN
Spam (including porn) is removed as soon as it is reported.

Advertising is one of the ways we support the cost of running the web site and the forum, and it also has helped us maintain our current dues structure which hasn't changed (meaning no increase in dues) in several years. We only accept reputible automotive related advertisers.  If you like using the web site and forum please click on our advertisers and visit their web sites, and consider them when needing their products. Hello. I don't like advertising everywhere we look. I don't believe the banners belong here. Advertisement should be limited to the CLC Self Starter magazine, and the annual document. How can you justify one advertiser here. Before it is over there will be a list of advertisers everytime you open the Message Forum. Seems there is a list of new members every issue - a very good thing. Just my thoughts of course.

How about this? List all CLC supporting (paying advertisers) in another section as you do with "For Sale" and "Wanted to Buy". This way they could be listed with their logo and a paragraph of space alotted to describe their services/products and show their web address. That would not clutter our pages, and offer a better opportunity for them.

Removing the top one would make it more palatable.  As it is you get socked in the eyes twice. 

I would be curious to know how much the club pays for web hosting and who the host is.

I get the economics but still dont like it here.  Shouldnt members have been polled first?

The reason I ask about the cost of hosting is I have a web hosting account with Network Solutions
http://www.networksolutions.com/web-hosting/index.jsp with 300GB of space and it cost $216 per year.  If that is not enough space there is a large package at $447/yr and an unlimited for $979/year.  All three have unlimited data transfer.  Plus email accounts.  Available in Windows or UNIX.  Maybe I’m off base here but that sounds pretty reasonable for a club like this.
