Purchase advice: Brake drums for '66 Eldorado
« on: May 19, 2012, 01:38:07 PM »
Some help please; I've tried a couple suppliers for drums for the front to no avail. They have correct size, bolt pattern, finned, everything is fine with the exception of the "access portal" where you can manually adjust the brakes by turning the spindle. All I can find are solid drums. Anybody know of a supplier out there? Thanks for your help.

do the new drums not have a scribed "knockout" for the adjuster
that you punch out if needed, i have seen that before on many new drums

not a big issue ,if you have a drum for reference you can drill/grind a slot in the drum as original
probably made as a reproduction part by a low volume manufacturer that maybe was not able to make identical for copyright reasons,or madee in china by someone who doesnt care or know any better on the design
