Howdy,
I need to update my profile pic...my beautiful black '67 Eldorado now resides in another CLC member's garage.
But, I missed the old girl and found a '68 to take her place.  This car has needs...paint is shot, leather pretty dry, but I think I can bring it back.
A buddy gave me a set of buckets, and I'm having trouble figuring out the easiest (and correct) way to remove the top of the seat from the base.
Has anybody done this?  I plan to use my car's seat back and have the seat base covered using the bench seat cover.
I would appreciate any help on how to remove the back from the seat base of the bucket from anybody who has done this, or knows how it can be done.
Thanks, Joe

I have no idea, but did you already consult the shop manual ?

Yes, the shop manual is not helpful.

I am pretty sure that the Fisher Body Service Manual would have the matter covered.

I have stripped down both the '69 and '72 seats, and it is pretty easy to remove.

There is a bit of upholstery unclipping involved from what I can recall.

Thanks, Bruce, I got it done.  My body guy showed me how to do this..its very easy...just four bolts per seat.
