I am looking for a fast idle control valve for 1976 Cadillac Seville with the olds 350 engine. Is there any way to test this part to make sure it operating properly? Thanks

That valve was used on all 75-79 EFI Cads, though the 425/500 engine
version might have a slightly different time constant.  The lower, air
control section isn't such a problem, but the top black plastic section
with electrical terminals can be a problem.

I forget exact values, but a good one will have a resistance of around
15 ohms with the micro switch arm pushed in,and 30 ohms with it
extended.  To test it, connect 12V battery to the terminals and see if
the small brass rod in the center extends out in a few minutes.
