1951 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan for sale.  Original numbers matching car.  Wonderful cosmetics and excellent mechanics/electrics.  Empress Blue (original color -- repainted a few years ago) over gray interior (again, original color and fabrics, redone recently).  Much chrome redone.  Starts very, very easily and runs and shifts beautifully.  Still 6v, but a strong 6v car.  Radio, clock and speedo inop.  Subtle, invisible upgrades to ignition and 6v electrics by owner (Art Gardner) to improve functionality, easily reverted to factory stock if desired (but no need to do so!).  Wonderful car.  $17,500.

Reason for selling:  I've got my eye on a 55 FW!

Such an excellent example of when Cadillac was truly, "Standard of the World"!

Art,

Congratulations on the sale of this BEAUTIFUL 1951. I think I recall reading a few days ago that you (and Jay Friedman) installed the new rope gasket on crankcase. Your buyer got a great deal on a stunning car.  If I didn't have my '52 in very nice shape (not as nice as yours cosmetically), I would have paid $18,000 for yours in a wink!!

Keep us posted on the '55 Fleetwood. I hope it's as nice as your '52 Sedan.

Thanks.  Jay and I gratuitously repaired the oil leak -- it was not part of the sale.  So yeah, the guy is getting a very good car for a good price.  And you just can't believe how easily this 6v car starts.  It starts as easily and quickly as a brand new car with fuel injection -- no kidding.
