My car was missing the original steel lines and glass bowl. I ordered new lines and i need a 90 degree fitting since the line is vertical connection. I am not sure if my fuel pump is correct but it had a bubble flare female port horizontal. This means i need a male flare swivel with female flare port 90 deg, but that seems hard to find. Male npt with female flare port 90 deg is much more common. Should the pump have a pipe thread port?

I believe your problem is with the new line you bought and not the fuel pump. On my car (a '67) the the line coming out of the fuel pump has a 90 degree bend and a male swivel flare fitting which fits directly into the horizontal port on the fuel pump. The other end of the line also has a male swivel flare fitting which connects to an adapter in the fuel filter.

Thanks for posting mike. I ordered these from caddy daddy and supposed to be accurate. I paid a premium for these things. From what i gather googling 429 engine pics,  your fuel filter connection is straight fitting?

MikeLawson

My car has air conditioning so there are three connections at the fuel filter, all are straight fittings. I've included a picture of the fuel pump and filter so you can see exactly how the  tubing looks.  Inline Tube offers the fuel lines for your car in both stainless and plain steel for $18-$20 for the pair, you might want to check with them.

Thanks for pic. My car is ac as well. I thought the return line was all rubber from filter to steel line underneath engine cradle. Looks like i need to find or make that section and put rubber in between them.

Dammit, wish i looked before ordering. I paid way too much for this and its not even right.

Obviously both of those fuel lines are wrong, the vendor should take them back no questions asked. You should try another source such as Inline Tube or Classic Tube, ask for a picture of the tubes before you buy them now that you know what they should look like. Good luck.

Brian, it appears that in the Caddy Daddy website you posted, the lines are for a Carter carburetor, and the pictures that Mike posted appear to be of a Rochester carburetor.  I don't know if that affects the line going from the fuel pump to the filter, but it definitely would affect the line from the filter to the carburetor.

Hello daryl. Yes you are correct. Mike has a rochester but i do have the original carter so my 2nd line is correct as fuel inlet is on passenger side. I would assume the fuel pump to filter line should be the same. I searched 1967 on caddy daddy hoping to see that line but it wasnt there. I will call inline tube

Yes, Inline Tube is the best price for these.  There are two different sets for '66, Roch or Carter, in stainless or steel.  Chuck
