I am trying to find a company to supply the DuPont Crane Gray Engine enamel, a dark olive green color for my 1940 Cadillac Fleetwood.  I have been told it is obsolete.  Is there anyone out there that can supply something like this in this dark olive green color that is used on the engine blocks and can withstand the high temperature the engine generates?  Help please!  Thanks!

Don't know anything about the Dupont paint, but Bill Hirsch engine paints are considered the gold standard these days. I use it and have been very pleased with it.

Thanks for the information and the picture!  One last question...is the link for the Cadillac LaSalle Green 1935-48 Engine Enamel?  When I pull up the web page it goes to the Auburn Green.  Just double-checking to make sure!  Again, thanks for the information!

click on "auburn green" and the list of the colors they sell pops up. Cadillac/Lasalle green 1935-1948 is in the list. Everybody uses Hirsch engine paint.

Hirsch paint is amazing.  I've used it on my 55 Cadillac for minor touch ups and I used it on my 54 Buick as well.

Another option might be Eastwood.  I used their cad blue on the '58.
Won't find any at the local parts in rattle can.   So have to be prepared to spray it yourself.

Eastwood supplies paint from POR-15. POR-15 doesn't have this specific green for early Cadillac engines unfortunately.

Something else worth noting is that Hirsch has it in both spray cans and by the quart. I find it beneficial to have both on hand depending on what is required. It applies real nice with a brush on engine blocks though.

do they make a black ceramic paint that will hold up on an exhaust manifold?

Cadillac Jack 82

The manifolds were baked with a ceramic and not painted if I remember correctly.  My 37 LaSalle had a near glass finish on the manifolds.

Yes they were baked but I was wondering if someone came up with something new.
