49 Hydra-Matic Transmission

  Looking for a reputable transmission shop in N.C. to disassemble, clean & re-build, if necessary, my 1949 Cadillac 61 Series transmission.  Nobody seems to want to get involved with something that old in my area. (Jacksonville, N.C.)  Any help would be appreciated.

You might try calling Fatsco and see if they know of anyone.  They sell the parts they might know who rebuilds them as well.
