Can the Hydramatic 315 1960 Be rebuilt at home without the special tools?
Yes and no. Most of the operations can be performed with regular tools and a bit of imagination. Snap ring pliers are a must, 3 are needed, but the cost from those tools is not excessive. One tool is needed: the one to remove the cover from the front unit coupling. This tool is not available but maybe you can find one. You can do your own with a thick steel plate.
I remember seeing one of your post Roger about the o-ring on the coupler. The tool you speak of is that 4 sided harmonic balancer puller looking thing? Looks like an X bolts through each point ?
Yes. I'm adding a picture from the tool. The one on the right is also needed; easy to do if you have access to the needed material.

Thank you Roger.
Roman Cadillac I am sorry I hijacked your thread. Good luck with your project.
