Is it possible to track down a lasalle that my father owned in the 1970's?

It was a 1932 or 1933 Lasalle seven passenger imperial sedan. My father bought it unrestored from a Mr. Raccon in Washington Pa in the 1970's.

When my father bought the car, it had an inspection sticker and license plate dated 1959 from Philadelphia, Pa. 

The car had black fenders and running boards, the body was a dark navy blue with pin stripes, wire wheels were painted a different deep blue. I remember the interior as gray with really elaborate upholstery. The front seats were very nice(almost like two small living room chairs, very cushy for an old car of then nineteen thirty's.

My father sold the car to a gentleman from a suburb of Pittsburgh Pa., near the old airport (Coriapolis) about 1976 or 1977.

Can't find any photo's of the seven passenger imperial limousine on the internet, thinking it can't be to hard to track since only a few left in the world

Does anyone think I have a chance at tracking down this 1932 or 33 lasalle?  I would think that someone in the Lasalle Club would have seen one of these cars somewhere in a show. I can't  find any photo's of this model on the net?

Anyone else on this board remember seeing this mode or actual photo'sl anywhere????

According to 80 Years Of Cadillac Lasalle, the Seven passenger and the Imperial were the same except the Imperial had a divider window. There is a picture of the seven passenger, but just a drawing of the Imperial.

Yes, the car had a divider window. I have since looked at advertising for the 1933 lasalle and believe the car was a 33.

Are these cars that rare that no photo's exist on the web. I can't seem to find any of a 33 seven passenger.

The only photo I can find of a 33 seven passenger is a car that had been changed to a hot rod type of restoration.

Does any of the cadillac lassalle club read any of these posts?

We exist to assist.  However....

A 1932 or 1933 LaSalle?
Which specific model?
Was your father a CLC member?
Are there any pictures of the car?
The car sold in 1976 or 1977?

This forum is visited by members, friends and inimicis.  There are over 7,000 Cadillac & LaSalle Club members on this planet.  The Authorities indicate that less than 10% utilize this venue.  There is not a global LaSalle owner vehicle database. I wish there were so we could help them.

It is possible for us to find the car but you can increase the probability. Please join our club AND provide us with evidence to solve this puzzle.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

Hello S. the ' 33 7 pass Imp. is style #33-663 it rode on a 136" Wheel base body was by Fisher190 were built at a cost of 2,645.I found 2 drawings go to CLC home page on left hand border click on tech,references click on Cadillac,LaSalle data base scroll down to LaSalle click on 1933 scroll down to 7 pass.Imp.

Many times, when an antique car is sold, and it is fully restored, the new owner puts a complete new paint job on the car, thus wholly changing it's character. The colors you mentioned for your father's car sound original, and for a well preserved car. However, in that era, "well preserved" or not, most cars were completely restored to obtain the highest possible number of points for judging.

In your quest, unfortunately, you didn't receive any results. However, it could have turned out in a positive manner, as there are many members who are specialists in the various years. For instance, I have a good friend, a Mr. Carl L. Steig who specializes in 1933 Cadillacs and LaSalles. Send me an email and I will give you his phone #. (Click on the envelope after clicking on my data page.) He has traveled extensively, and it might be that this car and the location may have stuck in his mind over the years.

Unless someone has done this...Had the car stick in his mind for some reason (usually "I'd love to own that car someday...") after this amount of time your quest may be fruitless. It was certainly not for lack of interest that you did not receive any replies. What you needed was someone to say, "Oh, that's John Jones' car." Mr. Steig might be able to do just that.

Unless you already have one, I recommend that you get a copy of the SUBERB LaSalle book by CLC members Ron Van Gelderen and Matt Larson. I'm sure there may be one or two for sale at the GN in Lake George.

It would help if you had more precise information as to the year and model. The physical appearance of 1932 and 1933 La Salle models is quite different.  Do you recall if the car had "clamshell" front fenders (long and sweeping down to the running boards) or partly-enclosed front fenders (see two photos attached)?
