This past weekend we had beautiful weather for the 26th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise.

Not as many Cadillacs as when the Motor City Region hosted the National Driving Tour in 2015, but the Avenue still had many to view.

Below are a sampling of the Cadillacs I had an opportunity to photograph.

How was the turnout considering it was officially cancelled?    From what I heard basically only the corporate stuff was a no show,  many of the people and cars were still there?     Was it better without the corporate stuff?
73 Eldo convert w/FiTech EFI, over 30 years of ownership and counting
Somewhat recently deceased daily drivers, 80 Eldo Diesel & 90 CDV
And other assorted stuff I keep buying for some reason

The corporate and community events such as parades, Emergency Vehicle Show, Mustang Alley (usually over 1000 cars), concerts, parking and shows in city parks or downtown didn't happen.  Birmingham blocked off areas normally occupied by GM and restricted vehicles from parking there.  And Berkeley didn't allow parking alongside the huge cemetery.  No porta potties so you had to plan accordingly when enjoying a meal at a restaurant or otherwise find accommodations elsewhere.

Corporate sponsorship and displays were missing as were corporate parties, radio station promotions and Hagerty who usually has a free trolley for clients.  Our friend who usually brings out a dozen or so movie and tv cars was noticeably absent although the Batmobile was seen cruising.

Spectators were down quite a bit as was vintage cars but a lot of patriotic people were waving flags and such.  Newer muscle cars and tuners were in full force showing that younger people do like and enjoy their vehicles.

Some people complain about the corporate commercialism but I tend to enjoy and appreciate it.  GM always brings out nice stuff from the Heritage Center along with a display of their new vehicles.  Ford and Mopar/FCA also make good showings.

We had a great time as always and already looking forward to next year although cruisers will still be on Woodward weekends for quite a while yet.
