Ought to do well with those '70s crash bumpers.  Might as well go in style.  Bigger is better in demo and this isn't the first one to meet that fate.  Last hurrah before the crusher usually.

Several years back I bought a front clip including motor,transaxle, etc from a 76 convertible that was in a demo derby. Fortunately it tried to use its rear as the battering ram, stalled and could not restart. What I saw of the car told me that prior to the DD it was in excellent shape. Oh well

If every car got saved from destructive events like these Demolition Derbies, the prices of collector cars would drop as there would be so many more around, that they wouldn't have become Collector Cars.

The only reason they get picked for Demolition Derbies is that they are cheap, the cars that is, and the prizemoney is so high.   And being cheap equates to not being valuable at the time, to the average competitor in these events.
