I love to collect old Caddy photos.
Here are four that Id like to share just to bring a smile to everyone.
Colors are very important to me, and Ill pass on a car that doesn't meet the bill.
Subtle colors are just sublime.
Somedays I wish I had been born in 1942 rather than 1962.

But if you were born in '42 you'd be pushing 81. Be happy you're 61. At 71, I'm splitting the difference.

Lots of dyno-soars in the lot.  Use less pixel density so they load a bit faster.

Never wish you were older...That's for kids.
One day at the Cad dealers sitting in the courtesy van, we waited for some old guy on crutches, so we could leave.  I was in my late 40s.  This gent knows the driver, so they start up yacking.  He was telling about having to sell his lake cottage as he couldn't take care of it anymore.  He leaned over and looked me in the eye and said, "son, don't let them BS you about the golden years, there ain't any!

John, interesting you were talking about colors, my good friend Tom Klockau just posted this story on Hagerty with an emphasis on colors... and full size Cadillacs...... he is 30 years younger then the two of us.

Really like your photo of the young family in the snow covered drive way standing by their car. Have you ever noticed how the families in photos like your example from the post war period were always leaning slightly forward as if looking into a bright and better tomorrow.

These Cadillacs with the cloth interiors are my favorites. Leather dries and cracks but these were tough as nails and always felt more comfortable. My favorites are the bold patterned Maharajah cloth. I missed an orange one a few years ago and wish I could find it. The most comfortable Cadillac in our fleet is an 84 Elegance with the velour pillow top seats. Unfortunately the 4100 finally died at 200k and I can't find anyone to rebuild or replace it.
