Howdy all,
The old 1954 series 62 coupe is just about ready for paint and I wanted to get the new weatherstrip lined up for installation for when I get er back from the body shop. I have noticed that alot of different vendors like Kanters,USA parts etc... offer kits for the car. I was inclined to use their product because it seems to be less expensive than Steel Rubber or Soft Seal. Is the quality the same?Please give me your thoughts and feed back on the different qualities VS the prices that you have encountered. I know that in this hobby ,you seem to always get what you pay for.

Bill, when I tryed steele's for the running board matts,they said that they didn't have any left.So, I had to order from another vendor who was advertising RB matts. It had been made by Steele's, only cherper! If the other ordering houses are less expensive to the point of it not hurting your pocket book. I think I would go with something cherper, But I have only dealth with items made by steele. You didn't memtion METRO RUBBER .I've heard they're good.HTH

Steele's material in my opinion is top notch. I purchased all of the rubber
for my '55 Eldo from them and have been very pleased with the fit and
authenticity.
They aren't the cheapest, but in this case you do get what you pay for.
If you go to all the trouble for a restoration, why skimp on the rubber?
