I hope my terminology is correct, but I'm losing my mind trying to determine how the front section of the splash apron in the wheel well attaches to the body of the car. I have looked at a number of these cars and have yet to see one with the front apron intact. If on a restored car they usually just haven't gotten around to replacing them yet, and on a survivor they are usually missing. I would refer to the authenticity manual as a resource, but unfortunately one is not in existence. It would not be a problem except for the fact that these aprons fly back and flap around the front tires when the car is driven. This is especially annoying when driving with the top down and listening to the flapping sounds from the front tires and checking out the small black marks on the whitewalls. I want originality but I'm lost. Hope someone can help!!! ???

Greg, If I'am correct,you are talking about a flap made of "RUBBER". If I'am correct what I'am talking about is "stapled" to the inner fender. All that I can suggest is for you to get some "heavy-duty" rubber and attach it with staples made at your shop. You may be able to get some staples from a craftman that uses staples to install roofing shingles with a pneumatic stapler.
