Title: 55 Cad Carb Rebuild
Post by: D.Yaros on May 18, 2010, 02:16:54 PM
For anyone contemplating the rebuild of a carburetor, and particularly the Rochester 4GC found on the 1955 Caddy, I have added a page to The Gray Lady website, that details my experience.  The page has text, pictures and the rebuild kit manufacturer's instruction sheet.

All this info is able to be accessed at http://GrayLady.WebNG.com/CarbRebuild.htm (http://graylady.webng.com/CarbRebuild.htm).

I hope you find it of interest and help?

Dave,

Well Done.

I read your rebuild your carby thing and I have to say what a great job you have done with it.

Thats just about the next thing I have to do on the rebuild of my car and although it is a Carter the basics are all there.

I remember when I was a young soldier doing a trade test on carbies I was given a Stromberg Carby, in pieces in a plastic bag, and was told I had less than an hour to move the vehicle out of the workshop under it's own power. That was fun.
Your method seems to be a lot nicer.

Once again. Well Done.

Ken,

Thanks for the kudos.  I have to acknowledge that I am a bit proud of myself.  It was a first for me.  I hope the info is of help to others.
