I'll just let this one speak for itself. ::)

Power Glide Automatic too.
All I can say is ::) ::) ::) ::)
If he had taken off the rear quarter bodyside molding and figured out how to rework the lower door trim it would indeed look like a four door Eldorado.

A photoshopped version if finished Below.

Nice photoshop work.
I agree, much cleaner looking.
The smooth sides sure make it look like a 1960 Fleetwood.
Dave,
Great work. I’ve seen studio photos of a ’59 or ’60 Fleetwood showing Eldorado side trim. Evidently the stylist gave is some consideration. I do feel the Eldorado trim looks cleaner, but I doubt “cleaner†was part of the design directive at the time.
Ralph
Have always felt the '59 60 Special should've been trimmed ala '59 Eldorado but as Ralph points out, conservatism was probably not uppermost in the minds of stylists at the time- even for a 60 Special. Final design was certainly "special" at any rate.
I like the '59 Eldorado trim idea on the '60 60S as well but maybe they went with the thin moldings to match the new moldings of the vinyl tops first featured on the '60 60 Special.
As for the '59 60 S trim--WAY too much going on there for my liking.
Another from the same seller:

Interesting concept. Yes, the photoshopped version looks nice. I agree this 60S would have been far more palatable than what was actually offered. To me the '59 60S is just way over the top.
It is indeed amazing how dignified the '60 60S is. Such a clean and graceful design, in stark contrast to the gaudy '59.
But I also laugh, Powerglide? I'm sure it's just a bit of ignorance on the seller's part.
Mike
Ignorance? Probably not. If he was restoring the cars over the past 10 years or so, he'd know they're Hydramatics.
Dunno. Have you ever spent time talking to the owners of some cars? There are times I have just had to walk away.
I doubt very much either of these cars have a Powerglide transmission.
