Hello again.
This weekend I am mating my trans and engine.
I don't have any lockwashers in my dis-assembly bag but it seems the 6 crank to flywheel 75-80 ft-lbs bolts could use some.
Tried to torque them and ended up hitting the crank end with the socket and slipping off the bolt head. Some lockwashers would give
me distance out from the crank to torque and add some lock.
Any add these?
I see to remember star shaped lockwashers on my 59 390, not the split type.

Thanks I was thing star washers anyway because of the thinner stamped metal it goes against.
I cannot recall, but I don't think there are any washers. But, don't forget to use Locktite on the threads.

It does not look like any locks go with.
So some red loctite and perhaps a crowfoot socket. I can't get a socket for torque between the crank end and bolt head.
Thanks again for helping me help myself.
Not sure what brand of sockets you are using, but I had no trouble torquing up the bolts on my own '60 390.
Maybe Aussie Sidchrome Sockets are thinner than USA made ones.

No washers in 63. Use loctite and torque to spec.
But, didn't the '63 use a flex plate.
The earlier vehicles used a Drive Plate, which might be different.
