Just picked up a 59 Fleetwood , in the past it looks like someone replaced the headliner and installed this inside visor that attaches to the rear view mirror. I thought it was kinda cool.
Very unusual.
I've heard of them before. I seem to remember a 1957 brochure that mentioned it. There was one on ebay awhile back.
I thought it was an after-market shade for non-shaded windshields.
Hi Marty,
How about some pictures of the rest of the car? I'm a big fan of the Fleetwoods.
Have a great day.

Terry here ya go
Sixty Special? Very nice car!
I have an aftermarket hat rack that attaches in a similar area. I have never mounted mine and I'm not say it might be that...just food for thought.

I assumed it was aftermarket, I haven't seen one before , it slides back and forth, just a novelty for sure.
Thank you Marty, that is a beautiful car.

What an interesting contraption. Perhaps from J. C. Whitney.
I have seen one of those before. Coincidentally on a white '59 Fleetwood.
I have never seen those before either but looks very interesting, I would keep it.
Nice Fleetwood, congrats!
There was one on eBay a couple of years ago. Although I think it was listed to fit a 1958. I think its really cool. What a neat accessory piece.
These were a regularly listed (but rare) factory option for 1958 Pontiac.
Search 58 Pontiac literature for more information.
