I had 2 1941 Cadillacs at one time. One was a 60S and the other one was a four door fastback model that I had heard was supposed to be the 1941 LaSalle. I liked the 4 door fastback model better and regret selling it.
Can you experts look at this one and see what series it is? I can not tell because it has been awhile since I researched 41 Cadillacs.
Car #1 is a 63 series.
Car #2 is a 61 series. Good luck in your search.

Thanks Bob and Steve. I don't see two cars either and I am pretty sure there is only one for sale. Steve, I know the car I owned was not a 61 series car. It's really bothering me now. I sold it to a truck driver from Omaha.
I thought it was a phenomenal styling job. I went to look at 2 barn finds in southeast Iowa and was instantly piqued when one was a 60S. I bought both for a fair price but despite the 60S reputation a CCCA status, I would sit in this other one and really enjoy it better.
Should have kept it. It's not the 67, that's the LWB car. 69?
My picture shows the only fast back four door Cadillac made in 41 so if you had a 4 door fast back it has to be the 61 series. The only other fast back was the 61 series two door. Search 1941 Cadillacs on Google and you may see the style of the car you had.

Steve Passmore is right on all counts. The car shown by BJM is a Series 63, which had initially been designed to be the premium model LaSalle. Like other models, it had a 126 inch wheelbase. It was about $200 more than a Series 62 sedan, and $500 less than a 60S. Cadillac built 5050 of the Series 63, more than the 60S but far fewer than the Series 62 and Series 61. Although the Series 61 was a true fastback, the Series 63 was referred to as a semi-fastback. Roy Schneider's book makes a point of the fact that the interior of the Series 63, like the 60S, was a Deluxe Fleetwood interior.
Someone had a Series 63 at the Boston Grand National, probably a 1941 but possibly a 1942. I think it is a very nice model--not quite as stunning as the 60 Special but in some ways more practical.

Thanks so much for identifying my old car and this car and sorry I called it a "fastback". It was just the closest description i could remember. I had read once in COLLECTIBLE AUTOMOBILE about the 41 Cadillacs and they had 2 photos of the 63 series.
I recall as well the reference to the series 63 being the "lost" LaSalle. As I mention, I recall sitting in the seats, especially the back seat after cleaning out years of debris and being impressed by the room and features. I also recall the "about" 5000 production figure.
The 60S will always be favored by collectors. But I had the rare opportunity to compare both side by side. The main difference, which may have been intentional, was the closed in feeling I had in the 60S. The thicker closed C areas and even the B pillars combined with less glass and high doors - made me feel like I was in a semi-limousine.
The 63 series as this car must be - is a proportional triumph. Long in appearance due in part to the 126" wheelbase and semi-fastback look, the car looked as if it was moving while standing still. I would say the interior appointments of my 63 were nearly equal to the 60S. I am sure experts could point out the differences.
I think I will call on this one. Like I mentioned, mine went to Omaha. Maybe this is the same one, since that transaction was 15 years ago.
