Title: 58 Seville, swapping a Bendix for Delco brake master
Post by: raugusti on August 19, 2016, 03:06:31 PM
I was moving the 58 Seville this morning and had no brakes!  Fortunately I got the car stopped with the parking brake rather than the garage door.
This kinda impedes taking the car to a show this weekend.

I'm guessing there is something wrong with the master cylinder I just rebuilt, since there are no leaks and the fluid is full.
There is a Bendix setup currently on the car, I have a Delco-Moraine setup that came with the cars on the shelf that appears to be rebuilt.  Is it OK to swap the entire booster and mc one for the other?  They appear to line up externally.

Thanks
Scott

Yes - In 1958 Cadillac used both the Delco Morraine and Bendix units.  They are interchangeable.
