I have both a 1948 Cadillac series 61 and 62, can't location the serial number on the frame of either vehicle. Located the serial number on the engine but can't locate the serial number on the frame. Can anyone afford send help on the location of the serial number location on the frame? Any help would be appreciated...
It's on the passenger's side frame more or less opposite the starter. It could be covered up by paint and/or dirt. Email me at jaysfriedman@yahoo.com and I'll send you a picture. (I don't know how to post them here.)
Jay, just click on 'Attachments and other options' below and a box will come up with 'Browse' no file selected. Click on 'Browse' and your files or pictures in your PC will appear. Select whatever you want and click on 'Open' This will then attach to your reply. Click on (more attachments) to add more pictures and do it all again.
Steve,
I've tried that before--I think on your advice--and I can never get it to work. It asks me questions I don't understand etc. I'll leave that to you young guys. (Now if only my 9 year old grand-daughter were here, there'd be no problem!)

Jay: I will later in the day post with some pictures that might help you. Right now I am off to Goodings Auction here in Scottsdale Bill
Was unable locate any serial number on the frame rail at or around the starter... used a right angle with a twisted wire brush and found nothing... on my Series 61 and 62...
48-9 are stamped very lightly here.
