Title: 1969 Deville: Ignition Capacitor
Post by: 69Deville on July 19, 2019, 11:15:58 PM
Hello,

Is there suppose to be an ignition capacitor mounted to the bracket on the coil bracket? I saw this photo of a 1968 Eldorado on another post and have always wondered if I needed one here. I know there is one inside the distributor housing, but not sure about this one.

Thanks!
Dave

Yes, there should be one mounted on the coil
bracket.  My '73 Eldo has one, I'm not sure what
year that may have changed.

Thanks Mike.

I ran out to the garage and installed one that I had ordered and then wasn't sure if it was needed, but I want it as stock as possible. I believe it will only affect radio noise right?
