Title: Fuel line to fuel pump
Post by: isuras2 on December 06, 2021, 08:06:48 PM
For the Cadillac 346, what should be used between the hard line and fuel pump in the engine bay?  I'm assuming just a regular fuel hose.

Yes, a 3/8 " fuel hose.
Thanks Wayne

Make sure that you are using a neoprene hose, and not a rubber one, as the rubber one will degrade and cause you lots of heartache.

they used a short line with threaded fittings,it is about 6-8 inches long.it threaded into the pump and the end of the fuel line,i see them on ebay from time to time.It is a factory crimped line, the hose is braided also, you never would use a hard steel line as the vibration would cause it to crack over time. this is what they look like, not for a caddy but they all had a similar line.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/403255567141?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item5de3e7a325:g:eu8AAOSw~bhcEr9B&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsS%252BMKizvpuEDUfX4dvRWfUzQU%252BiGgSnQrZofiDq5zXO%252Fj3HeKDadvhP0R0eciYN7iEFB0TcEwtDiSnawqbflTzXwLN61lXj0qCRN7%252BiBFdDXrOi4nWGihQlvQX5QNE2QqbiDkqOjZfpithBeDN5le44vNW9ueVgJF0R7J7QRvxDO9KOMrG6fxvojE3j4b%252F0ci8v9mpgZkQim6wET3ekKkiWsEjdlhp1URD5FTB8TozYw%252FV05zVfSFYTt8BecCCYVDoKTq44peOP%252FlSADgdnhlDsDlze6BYeZp5sClgOkzKxHkDtATSZNIuObnmfufF3m3ABZdxZinP6fOzL2PiqeBkpL8gH8yflml4RaCAPD1jhdHEsddiMZwbesefl1lrFOnuKGMHsKfSrB4RRSbvZJ0MEQm6sU3QuJrUy6WO1ovHzUQpJ8h9BlcKRsJHw1uhOhSuBfEbQF2lnDXf2lgFFmx3ZlzuMH38aL173iYDEOj6uWBeFnziX0qyir96vU9ZrUYRPtSVuCW%252FF3knq%252Fv4wOXQoJiXeDZ8MiTAplKJP8Pa1zBLg7L%252FJYQaMrD6QF7aFp4N32iyuhX%252FYzvumBe6bMc3SscizOjah1F96CwJ%252Fctv25bUrj%252BAar4E7c3MloS2820TMXjWmQfdiCJl20LXyBtzxKtNIbOVsJOpLLJxPW1L96JehZa0y7GxuBT4eW815wy05gBbV4PLdknLL2femMckLfw4O4D%252BwRW1PihanNC1LK6rLWpYUZZ8zh2OvhC8eUQr4Kadh1T0xusB3EOv8h7KxXM0gAHFg4Lu3tINRE3N1qsDGvPqUCtBY3yWvGruFilfw6%252F5d9YtruldH6eSfNAVkg%253D%253D%7Cclp%3A2334524%7Ctkp%3ABFBM8NK_0rJf   harveyb

Are the NOS hoses compatible with the new fuel we have?

I guess if you found a NOS hose, it'd be petrified by now, even if it was OK for ethanol, but was not.
I agree the short flex with end fittings is the way to go, and they'll make them out of fuel rated hose these days.(but check before you buy)
Motors move, so no rigid.   Do not use vacuum hose.
I use AN fittings sometimes and that's another option.  You can also make up hoses/have hoses made.   Much like a hydraulic but they use fuel rated
hose and fittings or AN style.   There's kits available at the race suppliers, usually braided hose.
