Title: "Badass" Cadillacs
Post by: Yann Saunders, CLC #12588 on February 22, 2005, 06:01:31 AM
Any of you interested in hyper-customs, whips, Lambo doors, 24" wheels, wild sound systems?

I found this page (among others) while doing (for fun) a Google search on "badass cadillac".

Not exactly what most CLC members look for in a collectible Cadillac, yet there seems to be a growing market for these conversions among rap artists and the like.

Mans ingenuity has no bounds.

Taste ?  Well, thats another matter.

Yann,

The best bit was the last photo, but, wouldnt one be enough?

But, I wonder what the Insurance premiums would be?

It really is a good thing that Cadillac is getting the attention of the younger crowd, the customizers and such. It shows that Cadillac is moving back into the spot light of desire.

We can all criticise the questionable taste and so forth of these creations, just as such disdain was placed on customs during its golden era in the late 50s and early 60s by the traditionalists. But, the attention the marque is gaining these days is a good thing for all, except us who have to rely on buying used and abused Cadillacs when the resale prices begin to spiral upwards!

But, I have to wonder the contortions the body must attain to enter and exit that machine. It must be interesting to watch, particularily if it as 7 foot something basketball player.

It looks like a Subaru Brat.  Televisions inside?  Who cares?

Whether or not Im interested in whips might be an interesting topic to discuss (in another forum), but what does that have to do with a silly-looking car?

In a world that is hopelessly overpopulated with six and a half billion people there are few ways to gain notoriety. The most common technique is to "outstupid" the previous idiot. However, this can be very entertaining to the rest of us.

Not sure, Densie. Ive seen the term "whip" used to describe these outlandish custom "creations".

Where he term came from, and why, I dont know.  Perhaps some "brothers" on the Forum can throw a light on the issue.
