Title: Wreath question for the Cadillac experts
Post by: Jeremy Moberg on March 16, 2006, 11:03:54 AM
Hi, my name is Jeremy Moberg and im fairly new here. Ive posted a couple times in the classifieds. Im a Cadillac lover like the rest here but im more into professional vehicles. I have owned quite few Cadillacs including a 1975 fleetwood brogham Talisman, 67 coupe deville and a 76 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Lifeliner ambulance.
Anyways, im restoring a 1976 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Olympian hearse. I thought it would be a nice touch to put a wreath on the back door like the old Superior coaches ( Crown models ).
My question is, what Cadillacs have a more flat old style ( NO plastic ) wreath that is 3 inches or larger? I was thinking if I could find out what Cadillacs had what im looking for, I could either order one from a dealership or get one from a salvage yard. Maybe some of the early 90s FWD devilles on the trunk? I allready ordered a wreath from JC Whitney and wasnt very satisfied with the quality. Plus, the ones that come on the Caddys will probly hold up better than the cheapies and not pit up like crazy.
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Jeremy,

You might try the wreath from a 77-79 Fleetwood trunk trim.  They are metal as opposed to those on later cars, which are plastic.  I think they are wide enough to meet your needs.  Hope this helps.

You might try over on the NHAA board and see if someone has the actual wreath.  Go to www.dead-ends.org and click the forums link, or nationalhearse.org (I think).

Also, does the M-M have a flat rear door, or does it have an angle in the middle like the Superiors?  My coach is at home right now, so I cant look at it, but I think that it may take a wreath that goes around that angle in the middle.  Someone at NHAA would probably know.
