I just purchased a 1973 Eldorado w/ 50K miles. It is White with a red Interior. The paper work shows it was used at the race as a director's car. They put about 40 miles on it. It was then registered back to GM and sold at a local dealer in PA after the race.  I purchased it from the original owners after the raceway used it.  The paper work from GM said PACE CAR, but it does not have the PACE CAR items. I have the original build sheet. It does not say PACE CAR. The car is loaded, 60/40 seats.  Lighted mirror, Temp gauge. I don't think they missed anything. Does anyone know about these cars?

The complete list of all cars used at the track is published in the CLC AUthenticity manual for these cars. If you will send me your VIN I will check it against that list. It also lists all the VIN numbers for the replicas  not used at the track and sold through dealers.  I am the owner of car #22.   I also have door decals available, but only if your VIN number checks out.   Tim Pawl , Curator, Cadillac & LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center, Motor City Region CLC.

Sorry about how long it took to reply.  I have been out of town.
The serial number is 6L67S3Q430092.
I have the original sticker.  I will be scanning the documentation and posting it.
The options include an option: SR X20PACE CAR DESCOR INCL SPC STL BLTD RADIAL TIRES for $285.00
There is a Pre-Delivery Inspection Procedure that has PACE CAR in the owners name. It was completed on 3/20/73.
The car was registered to Cadillac Motor Division on March 21, 1973. It has a Michigan Reg that States: Indianapolis 500 Pace Car.
It was then registered to Roger Penske Chevrolet on 4/14/73
The mileage has a problem. On the warranty card to Cadillac, it said it was delivered with 37 miles.  When it was delivered to Penske, the warranty card said 15 miles.

Nick,
Your car is car #52 from the Track Assignment sheets. It is listed as a VIP car, not a Festival Directors Car, and was assigned to Mark Donahue, the 1972 Indy 500 Winner.  The fact that it was at Roger Penske Chevrolet in Southfield ,Michigan has some connection since Penske was Donahues Race Car owner.  It could have been there for some type of photo session as the difference in mileage is about equal to a round trip from Cadillac Headquarters at Clark Ave. and the dealership in Southfield, Michigan. Our records indicate that the cars were assigned the State of Indiana  numbered license plates on May 1, 1973, so your cars paperwork showing April 14,1973  is a bit of a mystery as this was before the cars received their Indiana plates.  Perhaps it was done so that the car could be legally driven out to Penske Chevrolet.   Our records indicate the delivering dealer was Tutwiler Cadillac in Indianapolis, Indiana.   I look forward to viewing any additional paperwork and information you have.

Nick,
Some further information... on your window sticker it should read " Dealer to whom delivered; Cadillac Motor Car Division Detroit Michigan  Outlet 03005  Delivered to Dealer at: Indianapolis Indiana  Order number E0016   Final Assembly Point   Detroit, Michigan"   The E0016 may be slightly diffferent as I was reading the information from the window sticker for Car #10.
