Does anyone know how many optional auto transmissions were sold in Cimarrons vs the standard manuals?

It looks like approximate production numbers were:
82 26,000
83 19,000
84 22,000
85 20,000
86 25,000
87 14,000
88  6,000

So thats around 132,000 cars.  Not that I have seen or read an ad for every one but I have never seen a manual.

All I can add is that the last 1988 Cimmaron sold at Bob Moore in OKC was a yellow/yellow leather hard loaded car that sat on the showroom for almost 10 months.  No one wanted a V-6 5 Speed!  The salesman said it was a fast fun little car to drive though.

Looking around the net further it looks like 87-88 there was only a V6 and 5 speed manual.

Did Allante ever have a manual option?   If not what was the next one to have a manual as standard or an option?

My best friend bought one for his daughter. It was a stick shift. Cant remember the year though. I could have sworn it was a 4 banger, but not sure about that.
It was the worst car he ever owned too.

The Wiki article says the allante transmission was the 4t60.   I thought that car got the first electronic shifted trans that was similar to the 440T but like everything in the car it was not quite the same as other models got.

Says it came out in 91.    I was looking for where I read it but can only find tidbits, no complete information but from what I can tell the THM 440-T4 was the regular transverse transmission but the allante and possibly a select few other models used a an electric shifted version called the F7 which looks like it turned into the 4T60E in 91.    Can any Allante folks verify this?

Wasnt the 4T80 designed for the Northstar?  And then also used on the supercharged 3800's?

Yes GM started using it in 91, but the Allante started in 93 acording to the posting.
I could not say for sure beyond that info , that I found.

This was the Allante posting info.

I bought a used 1982 Cimarron in 1991.   It was a manual shift.   I bought it to use as my commuter car as my only other car was a 74 Eldorado coupe.

Despite the manual shift the car was a total slug on take off.   Trucks would pass me on acceleration when the traffic light would turn green.  It was embarrassing.

I would imagine they were not fast.   Early 80's cars were pretty much slugs anyway so I would suspect the extra weight it took to make one of those likely underpowered platforms into a Cadillac did not help the performance any.   Someday I will likely own one.  That is when I am bored with my 4100's and diesels.  Might as well round out my collection of 80's Cadillac crap.   Seems odd that they did not put the V6 diesels in those.  Must not have fit in the earlier models when they were big on the diesels.  Looks like the V6 came late and then it was a 60* 2.8 so Im guessing even with the enlarged front end the 90* 4.3 diesel may not have fit and also they had dropped the diesels about the time they got the V6 option.   I imagine that would have been the sort of car the V5 diesel would have gone in if it had gone into production.

The early Cimarrons had a 4-speed.   Buyers begged for a V6 or at least a 5-speed manual 4 cyl.   As typical of GM by the time they had a V6 and 5-speeds available the cars fate was already dealed.

The diesel 4.3 was gone after 1985.    I'm guessing it was too big to drop in the J-body cars.    I've only seen a few A-body cars with it.   One was a Pontiac 6000 the other a Buick Century.   Oh, and a local GM dealer had a used 1985 Coupe Deville diesel forsale.  It was black with red crushed velour and every option except a vinyl top.  What a beautiful car.
