What is it called a Grand National, since the club has members all over the planet?  Shouldn't it be called a Grand International?

I believe this name was coined early in the Club's history before we had any
(or very little) international membership.  Tradition is the likely reason for keeping it.

It was only about 12 years ago that the Board established a VP of International
Affiliates position to oversee the growing number of international members.  We are
now up to over 500 international members from 14 different Affiliated Clubs.  See
the Membership Directory under "Affiliates" for more info.

I suppose it is the same as calling the Baseball game "The World Series" when it is only played in USA.

But then, the MVP gets a Cadillac, and that is the best car in the World.

Not true, the World Series is an International sport.  The Toronto Blue Jays were in two World Series.  A Cadillac is given to the MVP of the Super Bowl, not the MVP in baseball.

And this year, Aaron Rodgers got a Camaro convertible as MVP of the Super Bowl.

I guess its part of GM's downsizing.
