My 1940 V16 seven passenger Imperial Sedan has a different LOF logo than whats in the authenticy manual. All glass (12 pieces) have the same logo and I'm sure these are the original glass. It says  Safety PLATE Glass, has a small LOF shield(1/8' wide & 3/16' high)  above PLATE with 4 diagonal dashes.  It also has 7-39 in small letters below glass ( 3/64' tall and 1/8' wide). The words Safety and Glass are slanted and are cursive lettering. Plate is all caps (1/18' high) but the letters L&T are 1/16' lower than the P&E and the A is 1/16' lower than the L&T. The overall measurement is 1 7/32" wide and 3/8" from the top of the logo to the bottom of the A. I contacted Carleton glass and sent him the information on this peticular logo and they said they could match anything. I don't know if this is unique for my modle. Am I correct ????????????

Ken:

At one time we were going to do an update on the '38-'40 V16 Authenticity Manual. The logo you describe was one that we were going to add and of course it is original. So there were at least two different logos used on these cars.

In addition to the logo on the window glass, the windshield is different. There is no LOF logo only                                                                   Duplate
                                                                 Safety PLATE Glass
                                                             as ws     hi-test        20
Duplate is underlined and hi-test has a line over it. The ws indicates windshield glass
