Hi everyone,

Other than spending a great day with Member, Bruce Roe last year, (visiting his beautiful property & rebuilding/testing my ECU), I don't really know any of you here yet. But...

I wanted to say 'thanks' to all those who posted & discussed Hagerty Classic car insurance here.  Without you guys and this forum, I would not have know any better and left things the way they were.

Christine is now fully and properly insured with them for a value of 12K. If anything would have happened previously, my insurance probably would have paid me about $1,500 bucks. Very 'old-fashioned' personal service. I can't thank you enough.

Now I can take her out this weekend (after a long, horrible winter) and have proper 'peace-of-mind'  :)

Next projects: new timing chain/water pump & new fuel hoses/clamps and pumps.

Thanks much! Mark~

Hi Mark,

Glad you are a member and enjoying your car and the advice of the members.

Many of us name our cars and I even name my motorcycles. I had two white Ford pickups with 4 wheel drive and we called one "Dually" as it had dual rear wheels and the other one was called "Singly" as it did not have dual rear wheels. My Harley is Maxine after an old love, and so on.

Christine is a nice name for a car in fact you may be too young to remember a movie that the star was  a  car named "Christine"  Not a Cadillac but still a unique car!!  I am sure someone will let you know a little bit more  about the other Christine.

Hello Mark

Congratulations on your acquisition and membership!
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

Mine is a "Reverse-Christine." Instead of fixing itself, something always breaks, especially over the Winter!!!

Just got the '79 Brougham out of the garage to wash it for our Region Trip tomorrow. Any one who wishes can meet us at 11:00 EDT at the LaPorte, IN county museum just out of town on (2405 Indiana Ave.) US 35 coming in from the south to LaPorte. (Seven miles north of US 6 east and west.) I am the Region Treasurer, and at present, have enough in the till to pay for any CLC member's lunch including family. There will be a trip to another car collection as well. LaPorte is on CDT, so it will be 10:00 AM there when we meet. You can't miss the museum. It's two story and looks like "Stately Wayne Manor." North side of US 35. Join us if you have the time and see Prez Lars' new '41 coupe.

LOL If only it were that easy.  Her name's Christine... but, so far it doesn't work on 'that' level.  I have stood back staring at the car and said "ok... show me" countless times, but in the end nothing happens, so I still have to do all the work/repairs myself :)

Barry, wish I could join you there, but too short notice with weekend plans. I also must get the underbody fuel lines replaced before any more trips, too nervous of hp leak/fire.

Is this something you do at that local regularly during the season? If so, maybe there's a way I can know ahead of time, email, etc. Please let me know. Hopefully there will be more opportunities like this get-together / show that I can attend.

I'm planning to be at the Lombard, IL Heritage Cadillac show in June if everything works out schedule-wise. (BTW, that's actually the original selling Dealer of my car in 1979).

Have a wonderful time and enjoy the day, and the cars.     Mark~
